Marma points (vital points and structures on surface anatomy). Principally there are 107 Marmas yet Ayurveda defines it on a deeper level as life energy (Prana) flows through 7,272,000,000 channels (Nadis).
According to Ayurveda, there are two nadi pravaha (nerve currents) in the spinal column, calledPingala and Ida, and a hollow canal called Sushumna (also called Sukha Mana Nadi or Nerve channel of happy state of mind) running through the spinal cord. At the lower end of the hollow canal is whatYoga Sutra calls ’lotus of the kundalini‘.
Marma Chikitsa and Kundalini Abhyanga as therapies are clinically proven examples of the saying” yoga and bhakti (devotion) are an integral part of Ayurveda,”
